1.Factories. Many family heads end up in factories because it is easily accessible to many regardless of their education.
2.Tree Planting. During the summer many end up going in the North to plant trees and make enough money for the year. The time spent there is very solitary, away from their respective families and concentrating on make big bucks in a short period of time.
3.Cleaning. Joining many immigrants from South America, Africans also do a lot of cleaning contracts, usually for other people.
4.Nursing. Many African women and men work as nurses in many hospitals, though some were doctors back in their respective countries.
5.Call centers. Making or receiving calls all day long.
I write about this because I have done all of these jobs with many African immigrants.
